Cheryl Weber The troubles and burdens of life overwhelm each of us at times. God feels distant, and we may fear he isn’t all that concerned about us. But his care for us and his watchfulness over us never waver. That truth can be hard to grasp; we are too used to the distracted, self-seeking, or even non-existent attention we get from others.
Psalms 139:1-12 shows us that God is aware of even the tiniest details of our lives. There is no place in the universe we can go outside of his presence. Even our darkest moments cannot hide us from him and his great love and redemptive involvement in our lives. He is for you and not against you. He pays attention to each one of us as if there was only one of us.
In Matthew 6:26, Jesus reminds us that if our heavenly Father cares intimately for flowers and animals, then surely, he cares much more for those he created in his own image. In verse 32, he affirms that the Father knows and will meet all our needs. And in Philippians 4:6, the apostle Paul tells us not to worry about anything but to bring every need before the Lord, giving thanks in faith for the answers he will bring.
This does not mean that we are the center of the universe, like spoiled kids who get everything we want. As God’s children, through saving faith in his Son, we are called to deny ourselves daily as we follow him for his glory. Yet in the midst of challenges and trials, we can know that our Father wants us to cast all our burdens on him. He cares for us perfectly, passionately, powerfully, and persistently (1 Peter 5:7).
PRAYER: Dear heavenly Father, thank you that you are powerful, wise, and loving enough to tend to every detail of our lives. Amen.Contact Cheryl and read more HERE.
