Technology Changed on Me – Ken Ebright
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8” (NCV)
I used to work in the television industry. One way to get into the industry was to know how to operate a studio camera. I even had a camera my mom gave me. But today, robotic cameras have taken the place of humans.
Later in my career, I was in charge of lights for television. Lighting for a television camera is different for a film camera. I would like to have used my acquired lighting skills to light for film, but they no longer make that type of film.
Most of the commercials you see on television are now shot in Canada. Companies who used to shoot training videos now use PowerPoint instead. When these videos were shot, the producers would have to rent lights from a lighting company. Now, due to the lack of business, these companies have gone out of business. These changes and many more have occurred due to rapid changes in technology, as well as a need to cut costs.
We all know how things change in this world. But thankfully, I know one thing that has not changed and will never change, Jesus. Salvation will always be by His blood. Another thing that will stay the same is how He will always provide for our needs. If we are a child of God, because of the Blood that was shed on the cross, when we die, we have a home in heaven. This will not change because of some economic concerns or changing technology. We can rest confident in God’s promise because it will always be kept. This is something we can be thankful for and look forward to with certainty.
If you have not done so already, put your trust in him. He will never let you down.
Ken is a native Minnesotan and loves to sing and can play a keyboard instrument. Contact |
