Something to Hope For - Toni M. Babcock Have you ever hoped for something so long you gave up hoping it would ever come true? Perhaps you’ve gotten to the place where grasping any shred of hope seems hopeless, so you’ve bandaged up your broken dreams and now you’re sinking in a sea of sadness—down to one string, playing on a broken lyre.
It’s time to reset your thinking. Giving up hope will chain you to a dim and dreary existence—and it’s no surprise because that’s exactly where the devil wants to keep you. That’s where he can do the most harm.
The good news is there’s a kind of hope that remains outside the reach of our adversary the devil. It’s a heavenly hope that can’t be taken away. When you put your hope in that hope, you take hold of a sure hope anchored in Jesus.
Satan can’t undo what Christ has done! Jesus died for us and rose again. He reconciled us to God so that He could cast our hopelessness away forever. What he accomplished on the cross to remove our sin and hopelessness is finished.
To all who are living in despair, there is hope in the love of God. He is present in our sorrows and is waiting to hear our call.
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39 KJV)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 KJV)
