Seven Things God Won’t Do for You - HL Ford
He will not resist the devil for you. He told you to do that (James 4: 7). However, He will intercede for you as He did for Peter (Luke 22: 32).
He won’t increase your faith. Faith only comes one way-- by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). You cannot have faith in His Word if you don’t know what it says. You also have a choice to give your attention to His Word and thereby grow in wisdom, knowledge, and faith.
He won’t talk to the mountain (problem, illness, challenge) in your life for you. He told you to do that. Speak to the mountain about God. Don’t talk to God about the mountain (Mark 11: 23-23).
He won’t impose His will on you above your own. You must choose to submit to God (James 4: 7).
He won’t do something for you that is not in His word. You can’t speak a million dollars into your bank account. However, you can say, “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory. I will fear no evil.”
He won’t do something for you when you are saying just the opposite. As in, “I believe God for healing. But the doctors say flu season is here and I always get the flu.” That’s double-minded (James 1: 7-9).
He won’t treat us as our sins deserve; however, He will allow consequences for our wrong choices (Psalm 103: 10-14).
Father, I thank You that when we are doers of Your word, we are Jesus’ disciples indeed. Forgive us for asking You to do what we should be doing, and grant us the strength to persevere.
