Scatter Light - Karen Pourbabaee “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105 NAB
The world can be a dark place, spiritually speaking. Perhaps you find yourself living in some type of darkness or uncertainty right now. There is a solution. There is light ahead. Take the lamp of His Word on your journey.
The lamp of His Word is dependable. It will not go out or lead you in the wrong direction. It is an eternal Word that cannot be changed—its’ promises are forever. “Your Word, Lord, stands forever; it is firm as the heavens.” (Psalm 119:89 NAB)
You can be confident on your journey. God has a destined path for each of us, one that includes blessings and an abundant life. Jesus promised: “I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 NAB)
We must learn to walk this path faithfully, step by step. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7) The lamp of His Word will illuminate just the steps before you, often not the final destination. We must learn to be content with a few small steps in the right direction aside the Lord.
Hide His Word in your heart. If you turn your back on it, you will walk in darkness. Don’t walk without the lamp of God’s Word. “I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set Your ordinances before me.” (Psalm 119:30 NRSVCE) Walk in the light of His Word so you may walk the way of faithfulness. Scatter light on your path that He may show you the way.
Let Your Word be a lamp for my feet, a light for my path. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.
