Rejoice Christian, God Keeps His Promise
Michael Edwards
And the One seated on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." Then He said, "Write this down, for these words are faithful and true." Rev 21:5 BSB
If we were to draw a dot on a piece of paper and a line that extends for eternity, the dot would be our life in this world. The line would represent our eternal life in heaven and on a renewed earth when heaven and earth meet.
Our eternal life, the way God always intended it to be, is as co-heirs with Christ. A restored earth and glorious home with an abundance of love where God dwells with us. There will be no sin, no wars, no death, no disease, no lies, no fear, no lack or suffering.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. Rev 21:1
Faith will no longer be required and we may question why we struggled so much, wishing we acted upon our Father's words and walked with childlike faith.
The LORD protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me. Psalm 116:6 NLT
We are citizens of heaven, aliens and strangers in this world on a mission to make Jesus known. God advises us to focus on the unseen, eternal, higher and loftier things like Paul. A proper focus unlocks Jesus overcoming peace in all circumstances.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Col 3:2 BSB
His perfect peace is guaranteed to us, provided we firmly set our mind on Him and His eternal promises, no longer allowing our hearts to be troubled or afraid.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 KJV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27 ESV)
There is only one way we can lack His overcoming peace; our thoughts and minds are set on earthly things. Let's change our focus.
