Present with God in Each Moment
Cheryl Weber
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33-34, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (NLT).
Even though each day may have trouble of some sort, each day also brings good things and Jesus is Lord over it all. He is fully present with us in our every moment and invites us to be fully present with him. He enjoys us and wants us to enjoy him, savoring life, basking in his love, aware of his blessings now. He waits, ready to guide and comfort us, to bring us joy, companionship, provision, or whatever we need in the present.
He wants us free of fear for the future or regrets over the past. Though we sometimes do need to make plans and decisions, the Lord calls us to seek his purposes in us, through us, and for us in the moment. He calls us to trust him for what we need now and not “borrow” from tomorrow for he is our great, eternal Now.
Perhaps, your present moment is filled with pain, pressure of some sort, or even the need to confront someone or some issue. You’d like out of your “moment” and the good isn’t easy to find. But God calls us to focus our minds on him and he will keep us in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). As we obey him and thank him for his goodness, he will support us and embrace us with his presence and power as we walk with him victoriously and joyfully through the many moments of our lives.
PRAYER: Father God, thank you that you are fully present in each moment with us, helping us, loving us, attentive to our needs, and working out your purposes for our lives. Amen
