Praising Him in the Mess – Jennifer Lynn
We recently had a situation in our little family that kept us home for two days. It was a mess of a problem. But let me tell you, God is in the mess.
Initially I was stunned when faced with the reality of the problem, but once the shock subsided, I got moving. I dug in and did what I had to do. Then, when I was knee-deep in the middle of it, I was struck with a strange thought. I was grateful for the mess.
It was ludicrous! There I was, dealing with one of the most nightmarish situations of my adult and parenting life, and I was thanking God for the terribleness of it all. As I stood there praising Him for His faithfulness in the midst of the mess, something broke inside me. Suddenly everything about the mess became beautiful. He had changed my perspective miraculously. It was a miracle.
These types of miracles are my favorite. When God gets in the trenches and changes our perspective. Those times when He shows His compassion and love when I feel like I can't handle it all, it's a miracle. I think if I was aware of all of the miracles He provided in my daily life, I would rejoice in ALL circumstances.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV
Prayer: Thank You for being ever present and ever faithful in the midst of every circumstance. Thank You for changing my perspective, when I praise you in the mess of life. Thank you for continuing Your work in me, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen
