In a very trying time, feeling hurt, alone and rejected, God gave me four clear words, “pour love on it.” As I thought about these words, I sensed His great love. I knew He was encouraging me to not react in a bad way, but to pour His love on the situation.
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 1 Tim 1:14 NIV
Knowing all of our failures, we did not deserve His love. But His lavish love still saved us and His Spirit of love was poured out on us.
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. This is the Spirit He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we would become heirs with the hope of eternal life.…Titus 3:5-7 BSB
Is there division between you and family, friends or neighbors? Are old wounds, unforgiveness, resentments, offense, hurts, anger, doubts, worries and fears, stealing your life, peace and joy? Is there distance between you and your spouse? Has someone wronged or hurt you? Is there someone you want to come to Christ? Has your heart become hard and judgmental?
Pour love on it.
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Rom 13:10 BSB
His love poured on it is always the right thing to do, bringing healing to all involved.
And walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant sacrificial offering to God. Eph 5:2 BSB
