Our Tabernacle – CD Swanson

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12 (KJV)

Our Father is so amazing and so good. He is the best Mediator, Arbitrator, and Intercessor we can ever hope for; and He loves us with the capacity of which no other could ever surpass. 

The old tabernacle and everything within the tabernacle was intended to show individuals how to worship and communicate with God. The tabernacle was where one could atone for their sins. 

The new Tabernacle is Jesus Christ. Our Mediator, Intercessor, and Arbitrator. 

But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. Hebrews 8:6 (KJV) 

The latter, of course, is a better Tabernacle, because it is heavenly, not earthly. The Tabernacle of Moses served a purpose, but the Tabernacle of Christ is different; it’s deeper, more personal. The New Covenant, is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
So, when we’re downcast, lonely, frustrated, or upset…take comfort in that we have the greatest Arbitrator, Intercessor, and Mediator on our side. He binds the broken-hearted and supplies the bandages, unconditionally, along with His fiery compassion and love. 

But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the LORD.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already. Hebrews 8:10-11 (NLT)

Get to know the one and only God, and LORD of lords, our Savior, Jesus Christ. And, when you need a bandage, He’ll supply all that you need, His provisions are endless. 

Take comfort in His love…

“Father, thanks for watching over us, for binding us up, and providing endless love, in Jesus name, Amen.”
