Jesus said, "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33).
Finding ourselves in trouble, we often run to others for a solution to our problems. When Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). The Word has an answer to all of our problems, but we tend to seek a human perspective on matters, looking for the instant satisfaction we desire. That's a weakness of our flesh.
When passing through the wilderness, we need to remember that it's God and only God who can bring us gloriously out of it. We cannot handle life ourselves and always need the Lord and His wisdom. If done on our own, while it may seem we have come out okay, there is a good chance we missed God's best and will only experience short term success. Victories won in our own strength can also leave us insecure, often lacking the peace and satisfaction only God can bring. But if we choose to proceed as per the will of the Lord, which will be known if sought, then our plans will be achieved in a way we never thought possible. His wisdom even secures us from further stumbling blocks that Satan tries to bring our way. That is why the Lord declares, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways" (Isaiah 55:8).
Waiting for His plans to be accomplished, often requires patience, which can only come through regular spiritual feeding. But, we can always trust that the Lord will never lead us into a 'nowhere' situation.
