One Spirit With Christ – Sheriena McEvers
God “indwells” our spirit when we are born again. His goal is to make us one with Him. Do you remember what He shared with His disciples?
John 14:20, 23 - I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
John 15:4-5 - Abide in Me, and I in you.
1 Cor. 6:17, 19 - But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Romans 8:9 - The Spirit of God dwells in you.
Colossians 1:27 - Christ in you, the hope of glory.
1 John 5:11-12 - God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
I wonder, do we allow Him to live in us and through us? Maybe we only see Him as our helper, to help us live right. To help you understand that he genuinely indwells us and wants to do so much more through us, may I suggest the following. Take one of the above references per day, look up and read the verses in full and marinate in the truth.
According to the Bible, Christ is in us. The question is, are we still trying to control our own life, or have we given Him the driver’s seat? He is the most important and powerful One. Do we believe this? Does our life show it? Do we submit our plans, even our ordinary ideas to Him? He wants to live His life through us. All He needs is our willingness.
Lord Jesus Christ, You are the important One. I am less important. Seeing you as the most important One will help me make room for You. Help me remember this as I live each day. Remind me to make room for You and let You live through me. You are so much better at living the Christian life than me.
