Not to Struggle, But to Surrender Robert Schaetzle "For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him." Romans 12:3RSV
I've discovered over the years to recognize the authority of God's presence and leading. When I was younger, walking by faith in Jesus was often misunderstood and thus exhausting. It takes time for our minds to be renewed so that we can walk peacefully and joyfully in the faith. Heeding Paul's instructions to the Romans, benefits us greatly.
We might struggle until we rest in this truth; faith is not something we manipulate or manufacture. Our faith is a precious gift assigned us from our Creator. A biblical promise received and fully revealed as we wholly surrender into the authority of God's presence.
With Advent season beginning December first, we'll be proclaiming our Prince of Peace. Through the faith assigned us, we'll share and sing about how we are justified by faith. A justification through the Son, bringing us peace with God. I pray that we rejoice in our hope of sharing with others, the Glory of God. Our hope and peace, is the Christ Child, we come to worship and celebrate.
Father, help us to recognize and celebrate your Son this Advent, not struggle, but feel the power of Your presence in our sharing Jesus.
