Not Say . . . Harriett Ford
Out of the heart the mouth speaks. Luke 6:45 (KJV)
Since life and death are in the power of the tongue, the word of God is very specific about what kind of things we should be speaking. Every time we open our mouths, what comes out is what’s in the heart. If it’s doubt and fear, we are limiting what God can do.
For instance, in Deuteronomy, God warned the Hebrews that He could NOT do what He intended if they kept saying the nations were too strong for them. God asked: “If thou shalt say in thine heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?” Deut 7:17 KJV
Apply the same instruction to whatever challenge you are facing. If it’s illness, are you saying, “This disease is incurable,” and believing it is too big for God to cast out? According to your faith be it done unto you (Mark 9:29). Or are you saying, “It may look like the disease is still in my body, but God is greater. By the power of His word, this enemy is defeated. Praise God; I’m on my way to wellness.”
Mark 11:23 says if you doubt not in your heart, you shall have whatever you say. It’s in the heart where faith is planted by the good seed of the word. Then faith is what comes out of the mouth, and heart-faith produces the result.
God said, “Let the weak say I am strong,” and not the other way around. Have what you say. Don’t say what you have. (Numbers 14:28).
