No Condemnation - Tricia Draper
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2 NIV)
Sometimes we just get busy. Life around us is complicated. We may not have time to do the things we want or need to do. At times, to our own detriment, we may miss our devotional time with God. He knows we have a lot going on and we never need to fear that He will be mad at us if we get caught up in life at times.
If by chance, you feel condemned for missing your God time, always remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Don’t let the devil fool you into thinking that feeling is from God. God does not condemn us, only the devil does. The enemy tries to lie and make us believe we’re in trouble and not worthy of getting back to our one-on-one time with God. Obviously, it is because he knows what a powerful thing it is for us to be in the presence of the Almighty.
Instead of beating ourselves up, we should simply resolve to do better. Think about the meal you missed and the revelations, power, wisdom and peace that are in His word. We should be feeling hungry for Him, our spirits letting us know we’re the ones who missed out. The only one that truly benefits from spending time with God is us. If we take time out for God, we can be assured that He will redeem our time in one way or another.
In Christ, we are never out of God’s grace. When we fall short, we simply start from where we are and continue our journey with Him. Never give up on God because He will never give up on you.
