Light or Darkness - In the Year 2020? Harriett Ford The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned. Matthew 4: 16 NIV I clicked off the TV and the room was plunged in darkness. I had forgotten my night light was off. My eyes were starving for light. I could feel my pupils dilating.
The tiniest glow which I found on my thermostat, helped me navigate the room.
There is a place where total darkness reigns. Chilling to think of it—to be separated from the Light of the world for all eternity. Many respected ministers are saying 2020 will be a year of darkness. Others say it will be a year of light. Darkness or light? Which will it be?
The passage in Exodus 10: 22-23 says: “So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.”
How can this be? Darkness everywhere, but light where the Israelites lived. When Jesus says, “You are the light of the world,” we really are, because His Spirit dwells within us. The kingdom of spiritual darkness is a reality and it blinds the eyes of people from the truth. People whose eyes are starving for light.
Clear vision is 2020. This is the year believers will see even more clearly, because we walk in the Light, even though the darkness as growing ever darker.
Father fill us with Your Spirit that we may help others to walk free of the shadow of death and into the Light. Amen.
