There are many Bible passages where the Lord declares that He wants us to enjoy His presence. “God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight.” (Ecclesiastes 2:26)
It makes one wonder why, despite God’s declarations, many of His children fail to enjoy His presence.
One of the reasons may be the thought that God is not approachable, and therefore untouchable. However, nothing could be further from the truth. God wants a relationship with us. He desires a close and abiding one with all of His children. When people fail to recognize the depths of His love, they’ll miss out on great blessings.
God loves us the way we are and accepts us fully without any qualms or motives. There really isn’t anything we can do that’ll make us more loved. He loves us just the way we are. He doesn’t like sin, but He loves us, fully and completely. He forgives us our sins when we call them to mind and repent of them, thereby allowing us to fellowship with Him further while opening us up to His blessings. God is a God of forgiveness, love and acceptance. He promises restoration, and in a time when chaos is commonplace, isn’t it refreshing to embrace His promises and the joy in doing so?
He enjoys spending time with us, and when we trust Him to meet all of our needs. He’ll never let us down. In a world of darkness, His light is ever shining. In a world of confusion, His peace offers a cloak of calm. In a world of a pandemic, His love and protection are unsurpassed.
Events in the world will ebb and flow, up and down, and all around. However, God and His love are everlasting, unchangeable and available 24/7.
“LORD, my joy is complete in You, always. Amen.”
