Jesus Has Overcome the World Vernita Simmons I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (John 16:33, AMP).
Maybe at this moment in time, you’re enduring a difficult season. It feels like the worst time ever, and you can see no way out of what you consider an impossible situation. You have asked yourself, “How did it come to this?” You’ve tried solving it on your own, but it merely made matters worse. You say you have faith but find it hard to trust God in the struggle. You feel justified in your lack of faith and in taking things into your own hands, rationalizing that He’s not supposed to permit such hard times to occur. Or at least this is how you’ve excused your lack of faith during these distressing times.
Beloved, the Lord knew about your situation before it developed. He said you would face trials and times of suffering. It is when you release control and surrender it to Him in faith, that a miracle happens. He has already overcome it.
It’s time, time to exit the revolving door of despair, complaining, and sorrow — time to take your eyes off the problem and place your faith in the solution. Turn to God, and He will strengthen you and grant you incomprehensible peace through His Word. Prepare for your victory through prayer, fasting, thanksgiving, and worship. He is the great I Am, and He wears the Victors Crown. He’s Jehovah Sabaoth, your defender, and mighty warrior. The enemy will never defeat Him, for no one is His equal. Be courageous, and of good cheer, the Almighty is fighting for you. You are victorious; in Jesus, you have overcome the world.
Father, I am triumphant. Amen!
