Hope-Full Hearts - Karen Pourbabaee “But the Lord’s eyes are on the reverent, upon those who hope for gracious help.” Psalm 33:18 NAB
Our hope attracts the Lord like a magnet and activates His gracious help. His eyes are watching over our lives with fatherly care. It is our hope-full hearts that become a beacon shining upward toward His very throne. He can’t help but notice our shining hearts in this darkened world.
Where do we get this magnet of hope? The Father is called the God of all hope, according to Romans 15:13. We’re to hope in Him alone. “And now, Lord, what future do I have? You are my only hope.” (Psalm 37:8 NAB) We, indeed, are to trust in Him, for He’s the One who has plans to give us hope. “For I know well the plans I have in mind for you… plans to give you a future full of hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NAB) Therefore, let us hope in the Lord! Here are hope’s promises:
Hope will be an anchor for our soul. “…hold fast to the hope that lies before us. This we have as an anchor of our soul…” (Hebrews 6:18-19 NAB)
Hope is the stability of our days. Hope will bring us joy. “The hope of the just brings them joy.” (Proverbs 10:28 NAB) It will dispel despair, depression, doubt, anxiety, and fear.
Hope will bring us blessing. “Blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord, his God.” (Psalm 146:5 NABRE) God’s goodness will abound when we hope in Him.
So fill your heart with hope in the Lord and confess your trust in Him. “Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives hope, for He who made the promise is trustworthy.” (Hebrews 10:23 NAB) The Lord is watching and He will be drawn like a magnet to your hope-full heart. Gracious help is on the way!
