His Marvelous Light - Karen Pourbabaee

“…Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NAB

The Lord calls us out of the chaos and darkness of the world into His marvelous light. It’s not just a change in location; it is a deliverance at the hands of the Lord. According to Acts 26:18, we are delivered from the dominion or power of Satan to the kingdom of God.

What are the effects of this marvelous light of our Lord?

*Forgiveness of sins and inheritance: In Acts 26:18, there is a promise that when we’re delivered from the power of Satan to God, we “… obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in Me.” The Lord will remove you from the grips of Satan’s hand, cancel the debt of sin, and give you a clean slate. He follows that up with a treasure chest of spiritual blessings as your promised inheritance.

*He will light our way: We are no longer destined to walk in darkness, doubt, and uncertainty. “But the path of the just is like shining light that grows in brilliance till perfect day.”(Proverbs 4:18) “…I will turn darkness into light before them and make crooked ways straight...” (Isaiah 42:16)

*He will enlighten us: “The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.” (John 1:9) The true light, Jesus, will teach, advise, inform, and edify us. He will provide all the wisdom we need in making life choices. (James 1:5)

“Where is the way to the dwelling of light?” (Job 38:19) Jesus is the way. Turn to Him, and He will deliver you from the abode of darkness to the dwelling place of His marvelous light!
