God’s Faithful Eye – Toni Babcock King David had a simple solution when he was troubled with nagging fears within or dealing with threatening circumstances outside of his control. “When I am afraid, I will trust in you,” he prayed to the Lord (Psalm 56:3 CSB).
How about you? Do you fear what the future has in store? That’s the time to put your faith and confidence 100% in the Lord.
Humans have struggled with real and imaginary fears since time began. But there’s a difference for those who’ve put their trust in God. The Bible says, “But look, the LORD keeps his eye on those who fear him — those who depend on his faithful love to rescue them from death and to keep them alive in famine,” (Psalm 33:18-19 CSB). In fact, when you fear the LORD you are doing the exact opposite of fearing some calamity in your life that may or may never happen. You are looking up to God in awe and trusting in the power and truthfulness of His Word.
We can’t control every calamity that enters our world today, but we can take God at his Word through faith. We can put our trust and confidence in Him. God’s faithful eye is on us and He is ready to hear our prayers. “We wait for the LORD; he is our help and shield. For our hearts rejoice in him because we trust in his holy name. May your faithful love rest on us LORD, for we put our hope in you,” (Psalm 33:20-22 CSB).
