God: “You Have Read My Word Enough…” Michael Edwards Years ago, God spoke to me clearly and said, “You have read My Word enough; now go out and do something with it.” He was not telling me to stop reading the Bible. He was telling me to apply what I read in my life and the world. I realized then, I had been using my Bible reading and prayer as an excuse to avoid what God calls us to do.
We all know, it is much easier to talk to God about men than to speak to men about God. But God wants us to share the gospel with the lost. If I just read the Word and do nothing, I become the light under the bushel. While I may feel safe and secure, no one will hear and believe.
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? Rom 10:14 NAS
Even though I felt fearful and utterly unable, God wants us to share our faith. He equipped me to do so as I learned and faithfully stepped beyond fear into His power and peace, not giving up. In the years since then, God has used me (still the most unlikely suspect) to share Christ directly with thousands. The more I step out, the more I see God’s miracles.
God is calling all of us to step up and out in a big way today. Right now, the world desperately needs Jesus, and the harvest is super ripe. I know this from sharing Christ frequently as I go through my typical day, even as fear still attempts to stop me from God’s blessing. If we believe the Word, the fear of man can no longer be our option or excuse, lives are on the line, and we hold His life within our words.
Let’s love, help, bless, pray, and yes, use words, they are necessary. There has never been a better time to serve up life by sharing the Good News about Christ! Many are willing to hear, and faith is coming.
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Rom 10:17 NLT
