God Fights for Us - Anna Darlene Edmondson "Do not fear because the Lord fights for you. Stand still and see the Salvation of our God!" (Exodus 14:14 WORD)
Ages ago, during Israel's bondage in Egypt, God heard their cries for freedom. Surely God's heart filled with joy as He attended to the prayers of His children. Charting an unknown course, Moses submitted his life into God's hand, becoming an instrument for the nation of Israel's deliverance.
During ancient times, chariots were invincible weapons and became a symbol of Egyptian power. Inevitably, a showdown between Pharaoh and God caused great fear to infiltrate the hearts and minds of the Israelite's, causing them to forget God's miraculous manifestations of power.
With the parting of the Red Sea and the destruction of Pharaoh's army, God vividly reminded all of us that His attributes are all-powerful. He is Lord over enemies, elements, circumstances, and people. Out of His strength, He fights for us. Over and over again, the Psalms testify to His relational, tender loving care.
"He has become my Salvation" (Ps 118:14)
Our God and Savior rule over all enemies. Through Jesus' resurrection, we have a sure hope. Let your heart rejoice in His omnipotence. Because of His tender and thoughtful care, we can walk unafraid, in courage and strength, in the purpose He has chosen for us.
"For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless" (Eph 1:4)
"The Lamb was slaughtered before the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8)
Loving Father, we realize that out of the ugliness and agony of Jesus' crucifixion, you accomplished the highest good in history, showing us that You make all things work for our good. Thank you for redeeming us and unleashing Your Kingdom in full power. No one love's us as You do. Amen
