Echoes - Jenny Miller
As a Christian, I came to realize that I was not living and representing Christ as I knew He wanted me to live. My life was a series of bad decisions, errant theology, and prideful living. Today, I wonder how many people in my life may have considered me a hypocrite, thinking it was representative of Christ Himself? I grieve to think that some may have stumbled and been led astray by my former walk. Even now, when I meet people from my past, I wonder if my previous ways still echo in their memory.
Thankfully, we're saved by grace, and God is not holding our failures against us. Today, out of love for others, inspired by the revelation of God's deep and immense love for me, I do my best to eradicate all traces of my past actions. I want my life to echo Christ to all I meet, from now into eternity. I still do fail at times, but praise God for His redeeming and restorative power!
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." - Romans 8:1
My life's goal now is to exemplify Christ's love and give no one (especially my children) a reason to be alienated from Him.
What does your life echo today? Is there anything you are aware of and have tried to justify that misrepresents Christ and the Father's undying love to others? If so, repent and rest in the knowledge that He is faithful in forgiving and redeeming it all. Then, praise Him for His work in your life, His abundant and sufficient grace, and agape love that He works in and through you.
May the love of God in Christ live and breathe through you today and forever. May you echo His love, grace and truth to this fallen world.
