Choose This Day – Harriett Ford
“…choose you this day whom ye will serve…” (Joshua 24:15 KJV)
I choose to believe God’s promises are true no matter what I see in the natural realm. I choose to believe the supernatural must manifest itself here on the earth because God says He will answer. There’ve been so many disappointments last year — the Covid-19 pandemic, troubling election irregularities in the United States, my husband’s fainting spells and continued COPD, my mom’s failing vision and hearing, and my nephew’s relapse. Nevertheless, God, You are the author and finisher of our faith.
Author in me a harvest-producing faith. I am holding on to the promise of a harvest, according to (Isaiah 55:9-11 KJV), “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
I am reminded that when Paul was discouraged, God sent help — a supernatural deliverance from jail, an angelic manifestation during a storm at sea, and victory over the serpent’s bite on the island of Melita.
I am reminded of new mercy every morning. I need it today. Thank you, Father.
