Always Encourage Each Other in The Faith Michael Edwards If we want to walk by faith and not by sight, it is crucial, especially now, that we work together and always encourage ourselves and others in the faith of God’s promises. All of us need to keep the mindset of the finished work of Christ and His eternal promises. We are to see and recognize ourselves and other believers as the new creation God states our Spirit has become.
Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Cor 5:16-17 NAS]
We are called to build each other up in the faith in God’s promises, to always point to Jesus and the eternal, especially as the end of the age brings more turmoil to this world.
I accept that in Christ I am:
Greatly loved by God - Ephesians 2:4 -
Forgiven of all my sins - Ephesians 1:7 Free from the law of sin and death - Romans 8:2 - Righteous - Rom 5:19 Complete - Colossians 2:10 NASB Justified - 1 Corinthians 6:11 Sanctified - Hebrews 10:10 NASB Holy and without blame - Ephesians 1:4 Perfected - Hebrews 10:14 NASB As believers, we are called to take our eyes off the flesh and keep them on Jesus, His finished work and His eternal guaranteed promises, where our freedom, peace and power reside. I cannot emphasize enough how important this focus is for a Christian. Steadfast faith in what God tells us is the absolute truth is what sets us free from our flesh and its works (fear, worry, strife, sin, anger, bitterness, resentment, impatience, etc.) in this world and allows us to walk in the Spirit where the fruits of the Spirit are supernaturally produced (peace, patience, contentment, love, joy, etc.)
