A Plan to Fast from Wrong Thinking Michael Edwards
Have you ever thought about fasting for 40 days from wrong thinking? Do you think your life would change if your thoughts did?
For walking in flesh, we do not wage war according to flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but divinely powerful toward the demolition of strongholds, overthrowing arguments, and every high thing lifting itself up against the knowledge of God, and taking captive every thought into the obedience of Christ, 2 Cor 10:3-5 BLB
Changing our thinking is like adjusting the rudder on a large ship. If we correct the problem at its source, the vessel effortlessly changes course. A true course will take us out of the storm and into peaceful waters as we journey safely home to our Father.
The battle we are in as Christians is a spiritual battle for our thoughts and minds. The enemy cannot change the truth, God’s faithfulness, or our ultimate victory in Christ upon belief. But he can influence our thoughts and fill our minds with lies in this life. These lies water down and distort the truth, making it of little or no value in our daily spiritual battle. Our real enemy wants us struggling by sight, not walking by faith in the truth. He knows if we walk by faith in what God assures us is true, we will walk in God’s peace and power in all circumstances.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Cor 5:7 BLB
The absolute truth God tells us in His word must be believed and acted upon to set us free. We need the whole truth and nothing but the truth in our thoughts and minds for God’s peace and power to reign. Right believing leads to right living.
And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, for you to prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God. Rom 12:2 BLB
