| | | | | 2020 – Our Year of Clear Vision
This year, FaithWriters newsletters have included the subtitle: 2020 – Our Year of Clear Vision. I have questioned those words at times. It seems like we are blinded by uncertainty instead of blessed with clear vision. The world is being shaken, division is growing, and it's hard, to tell the truth from a lie, as evil is called good and good is called evil. The world's circumstantial peace is nowhere to be found in the storm.
As a believer, if we are anxious and unsettled by these events, I suggest, it is because our vision has been clouded. If we are shaking with the world, we are walking by sight in things of this world instead of by faith in God's vision and eternal promises. At least in part, our faith and security are in who we are and what we have in this temporal world.
As promised, everything built upon sand is falling away, and more change is coming. Should this leave us hopeless? No. God tells us these things will happen. These events can correct our vision, as it becomes increasingly clear that our faith should not rest in anything in this world. 2020 is revealing clearly that only our heavenly Father, His kingdom, and promises to us will remain standing firm in the end.
His peace in this world lies directly on the other side of trusting in Him with all of our hearts. He has us covered, and His promises to us will never change. Can you see that only our Father holds the unchanging love, peace, and security we seek?
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Cor 4:18 NIV
The good news is that the uncertainty is only in this world, where we are ambassadors of His Way, Truth, and Life. Back in our eternal home, nothing has changed, and our Father's will is being done. He asks us to pray that His will be done here also, to walk by faith, not by sight, and to make sure we bring others home with us when we return.
