Hope-Filled Mornings - Karen Pourbabaee
“Morning by morning, O Lord, You hear my voice. Morning by morning, I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation.” Psalm 5:3 NAS
How do you begin your day? Does chaotic rush or disorganized mayhem describe it? What can be expected from a tense, unplanned morning? Without much thought, there will seemingly be nothing to wait for. Can you recall moments waiting in expectation? Most can remember childhood feelings of expectant waiting for Christmas. We were downright hopeful. It’s possible to capture hope again.
David began his day wisely. He lifted his voice in prayer. He set the tone for his day. David generated hope to carry him through. Hope is desire accompanied by expectation. What are your desires, your requests of the Lord? Like David, you must generate hope. To hope is to expect, to look for. What are you expecting? What are you looking for? Would you like to live in hope-filled mornings?
Beginning your day. Set aside some time to lift your voice to your heavenly Father. Lay your requests before Him. Commit your concerns and problems to His care. Give God something to work with and make Him a partner in crafting your day.
Filling your day. Hope begins in the morning. Only you can fill your mornings with hope. Your prayer signifies your trust and dependence on the Lord. You can merely wait in expectation, hoping in Him.
Stabilizing your day. Hebrews 6:9 tells us that hope is the anchor of our soul. It brings a sense of calm and peace. Hope-filled mornings might even color your day with joy.
Morning by morning, I will lift my voice unto You, O Lord, filling my days with hope. Amen.
