I Might Lose My Job – Ken Ebright

I was a part-time bagger at a grocery store. One day I messed up someone’s food order and lost my job. The same day, I was promoted to a full-time job as a production assistant at a cable company I was working at.
After six years, I left the cable company and worked a few temporary jobs for a while. The temp agency told me that I needed to take long-term assignments, otherwise I would never get work. Well, they were wrong; I was not only able to get temp jobs, but I was able to work freelance at a video production company.
I also worked as a courier; unfortunately, the two-hundred-mile drive every day took a toll on my car. Then my pastor, Brett, helped me get a job as a Mail Processor.
I get worried from time to time when things slow down at my current job. I wonder if the end of my job is near.
When I go into a state of panic, instead of trusting Jesus, it’s as if I am telling him, “Lord, even though you helped me get a full-time job at the cable company or used Pastor Brett to help me get my current job, I'm still going to worry.”
I forget that my help comes from the Lord, and that He will provide everything I need. I just have to look up.
