Wonderful Promises - by Susan Ferguson
For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding "Yes!" And through Christ, our "Amen" (which means "Yes") ascends to God for his glory. (2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT)
The Bible is packed full of God's promises. The moment you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you gain access to His wonderful promises. No matter what you're facing, the Bible has a promise that can strengthen you and help you overcome adversity. Find the promise that applies to your situation and take it to God in prayer. Below are just a few of them:
Jesus said that in this troubled world, you can have His peace. (John 14:27)
God promises to help you in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1) If you're facing a crisis, know that you're not alone. God is with you and promises never to leave you. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Pray for His strength, and He will sustain you through hard times.
If you are a chronic worrier and can't seem to stop, draw close to Christ and give your worries to Him. Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, for each day has enough problems of its own. Trust your life to Jesus and live life one day at a time. (Matthew 6:25-34)
If you've suffered a loss and your sorrow is great, God promises comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) He keeps count of your sorrows and collects your tears in a bottle. (Psalm 56:8)
If you're sick - physically, emotionally, or mentally - the Bible is filled with God's promises for healing. (James 5:15) Never underestimate the power of prayer, for there's healing power in the name of Jesus.
God loves you and promises that nothing can separate you from His love. (Romans 8:38-39)
