| | | | | | "Desert Water"- Tracie Morrison
Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink." And Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD ?" Exodus 17:2
Wikipedia defines desert as a barren area of land where little precipitation occurs and the living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life. While we may not physically live in the desert, we, as Christians, do experience desert-like seasons along our spiritual journey. Situations in our homes, on our jobs, in our families or relationships become hostile, and we find ourselves angry, disappointed, or frustrated with God. In those moments, we feel parched--like we are running on empty and in desperate need of water. When little to no relief comes, it is tempting to complain and question, "Where is God? Why is He doing this to me? When will this dry spell end?" When things get rough and the terrain hard to navigate or too hard to bear, tap into Jesus. He will provide you with living water to help you get through your dry season!
Father, give us the wisdom to recognize, to navigate, and to transition through the various seasons in our lives. When we are tempted to curse you out of our lack of understanding, have mercy on us. When we are empty, Holy Spirit we ask you to fill us with living water that will sustain us in the driest of seasons. Our hope is in you, Lord! In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen!
