Receiving a welcome, full of heavenly splendor, in the kingdom of the Lord of lords, the King of kings, the maker of heaven and earth, and the God most high is an open invitation for all who are eager to make their calling and election sure. We all know, by the virtue of God's word, that every life on this earth is created with a purpose as we live as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). An ambassador is a person with the highest rank who represents a state, a government, or an organization. God has given us this highest rank of his kingdom, bestowing us with a big responsibility. God has made us ambassadors of his ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18) where he makes an appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:20).
How can a person like me, who is full of filthy works, be an ambassador of Christ? There is power in the name of Christ. When we call upon Him, we are blessed with a "divine power" (2 Peter 1:3), which gives us all we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3) through His knowledge. This knowledge of God develops faith which is nurtured by our efforts of knowing Him more, which in turn allows us to "participate in the divine nature" (2 Peter 1:4) to yield for his purpose.
