Recently, I was watching some old family videos. In the video, the children were taking turns riding on a tube behind the pontoon boat. My nephew, who may have been seven at the time, was lying on the tube and being bombarded by water hitting his face. The adults immediately began yelling, "Get on your knees" as the boat stopped for fear of his drowning.
As I watched the video, thoughts began to form in my mind. Aren't we like my nephew, gliding through life as people, illnesses, and life, in general, rushes at us threatening to drown us? The advice given to my nephew is relevant in all life situations. GET ON YOUR KNEES!
Prayer is one of our greatest gifts. It is also one of the simplest acts of life; just talk to Jesus. He is always listening whenever we speak, wherever we are, and even when we are not on our knees but lying or sitting. For it is when we come to the Lord in prayer seeking advice, protection, and healing that we can breathe without fear of drowning and continue to enjoy the ride of a lifetime.
Dear Father, thank You for loving me so much that You are always there listening to my prayers.
