Recently I had a “live chat” online with a person about a need I had with his company. As I typed in my question the word “listening” appeared by the online helper’s name. When he wrote an answer to me the word “responding” appeared. At the end of the “chat”, the helper wrote, “Is there anything else you need?”
I thought about how this relates to prayer. Each day we have an opportunity to have a “live chat” at any time with our heavenly Father. He promises in Jeremiah 29:12 that we can be assured He is listening: “'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”
He also promises He will respond in Jeremiah 33:3: “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
And, just like the company helper in the “live chat”, He assures us He is ready to provide our every need in Christ as promised in Philippians 4:19: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
