Probably at some time in our lives we have said, "It's not fair". At times life is decidedly unfair and it has been that way ever since Adam and Eve left the Garden. Living in a fallen world means that there are injustices which will not be corrected in this life.
If life was fair the world would be a safe place and we could feel secure knowing as long as we did the right thing all would be well. However since life isn't fair, we find our security in God. When we trust God, we know he can use even the unfair circumstances of our lives to ultimately benefit us. Furthermore when we find ourselves battling injustice we have the assurance of God's presence enabling and comforting us.
We also take confidence in knowing that one day there will be justice. God is a just judge. This means we can trust God with the murderers, the molesters and the Hitlers of this world knowing that God will deal rightly with them in due course. This frees us to forgive people who have hurt or abused us because we know that while there may not be justice now, there will be in the world to come.
