Some have a problem telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, but have you considered how some have a problem telling the truth about themselves? I think about this when I recall a situation where someone I was listening to complained how they couldn't "do anything right", going on and on, repeating hopeless negative things in regard not only to their own perceived inabilities, but about their own personhood . If I ever witness it again, I have a mind to interrupt with "In the name of Jesus, stop telling lies about yourself," because the truth of the matter is, the devil is a liar and what he loves the most is getting people to believe a lie.
This is especially true for Christians. We can often repeat faulty views about ourselves. Be on the lookout for such negativity. We realize we are all sinners, and we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 KJV ), but once we have received Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord, the key to healthy living is to view ourselves as who we are in Him, and to confess to the world what He says about us. This is not self-glorification, it is God-glorification as the Apostle Paul reminds us in the New Testament, (1 Corinthians 1:30-31 KJV).
Dear Jesus, in You we are more than conquerors: more than our fears, more than our failures, more than our sins, and more than the lies the devil tries to get us to believe about ourselves, (Romans 8:33-37 KJV). Help us live like we believe You.
