Do you feel burdened, worried, and anxious? Jesus did not intend for man to live this way and He longs to set you free from such feelings.
If we take His yoke upon us we can find rest. A yoke connects; His yoke is the Word. We are connected to the Spiritual life through the Word. Are you connected to Christ? As we connect with Him we find we are at rest. No longer do we need to work to be Spiritual; we are Spiritual because of Christ's work in us. We can rest in what He has accomplished for us and simply receive rather than try to achieve.
The word "easy" means to furnish what is needed. When you connect yourself to Christ He furnishes you with what you need. What do we need? We need the Word. When we connect with Christ, we connect with the Word and our Spiritual life. The Word becomes part of who we are; it transforms our lives. Take His yoke upon you - connect with Christ. Stop trying to be Spiritual on your own; it's impossible (John 15:5).
Learn from Him. Let Him teach you through the Word how to live a life that others long to live. Yoke up with Christ; the soul at rest is the soul that is focused on Him.
