Mirror, Mirror - by Stephanie White
And we all, with unveiled face, BEHOLDING THE GLORY OF THE LORD, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
We're to behold His glory and we're to do so with an unveiled face. To behold is to see reflected as looking in a glass (mirror). Do you see Christ when you look at yourself? Do you see who you are in Christ when you look at the Word? If you don't, then you need to make a change! We need to go with an unveiled face - we need to go without disguising ourselves. Too many times we try to look at the Word as something we can conquer, but it's our mirror - not a challenge. We disguise ourselves by pretending we can be good enough apart from Christ. The Word shows us who we are in Christ, we will see that manifested in our lives if we'll remain focused on Christ instead of on ourselves.
The next time you read the Word, view it as promises rather than something you must live up to. For example, when you see that the Word tells you not to gossip, see this as a promise - if you walk in the Spirit you will not fulfill the flesh's desire to gossip (Galatians 5:16). We cannot conquer the flesh apart from Christ.
The more we focus on Christ, the more we will be transformed into His image! We will mirror Him because we are focused on Him! We will be transformed into His image - little by little - from one degree of glory to another!

FaithWriters are Fulfilling The Great Commission Together!
As we help you become the writer God has called you to be, you help us spread the gospel in over 230 countries online. Here is a quote from a reader who accepted Jesus on FaithWriters. His life will never be the same because one writer “put pen to paper” and shared it.
‘I literally was transformed and totally healed in an instant upon trusting in Jesus as my lord and savior. The love, joy, light, and peace I feel is way more than words or thoughts can express. This new life of being a true Christian, who is saved, Spirit-filled, born-again, fully and truly converted by the living holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, is going to carry my being further than anyone could ever imagine. It will be the most blessed, rewarding, and holy life in the Lord, which I have embarked upon now.’” Roger P. |
