We all as a people tend to reflect a certain narrative about ourselves, and if you're like most, you keep replaying the broken record over and over. That story may have had a tumultuous beginning. There may be people, places, circumstances and relationships that affect the story you ultimately present to others on a daily basis. The good news is: your history is not His story. You don't have to keep repeating the same broken narrative about yourself like a needle skipping on a broken record. God gives us a new story - his story, and it's a story of abounding grace and undeserved kindness. Are you ready and willing to delve into it? Pick up God's Word and read it every day. A good book to start with is the Gospel of John. John emphasizes the importance of believing and receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. As you yield your story to Him, the narrative you reflect will become His story, and at last you'll have the opportunity to present something brand new to the world, to the glory of God - "Looking unto Jesus" the author and finisher of our faith.
Dear Jesus, you are the author of our salvation - the greatest story ever told.
