Review: 5 Stars - My students loved it... Jeni Shaw As a kindergarten teacher, I am always looking for new books to share with my class. When they have a deeper meaning that we can dig into, all the better! My students loved When Rocks Cry Out. They enjoyed the story of a young lion cub's determination, and the beautiful revelation that the love of the King is free!

CLEANING HOUSE - Mary Toll
"The Lord said to Samuel, 'People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' " (1 Samuel 16:7 NIV)
A tattooed, bearded man got out of his truck to speak to Beth's husband Frank, who was fixing his tractor. Beth's thoughts raged as she prepared their camper for sale. Great! Another heathen, foul-mouthed worker to help run the ranch. Resentful towards Frank for hiring the riffraff without credentials, Beth couldn't wait to tell Frank off.
Seeking God's wisdom enriches relationships {James 1:5}; judgement however, destroys them. Judgement is like toxic waste polluting one's mind that influences others. It demands a purging from our hearts for that is where the temple of the living God dwells {1 Cor 6:19}. If we neglect to love strangers we are useless nobodies---noisy gongs {1 Peter 4:9; 1 Cor 13:2}. Jesus was kind and helpful to people, but His loving practices were judged harshly as though unfamiliar, and regarded as wicked by those in authority. "Why does he (Jesus) eat with tax collectors and sinners?" the religious leaders asked the disciples, indignantly. Jesus responded, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick" {Matthew 9:12}. Judgement is fatal--an action that nailed Jesus to the cross.
That afternoon, Beth overheard Frank on the phone talking about the bearded stranger. "I met Joe long ago...he works fourteen hours...his wife died and he wants to sell his house...too many memories...he wants to buy my camper and move." Beth grieved over her attitude and repented, changing her ways.
"Father, fill our home with wisdom and love in our daily living. Keep our hearts pure toward those we meet. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
