Living in God’s Will - by Karen Pourbabaee “…pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 NAS
Many saints agonize over God’s will for their lives. They’re thinking details. Dates, places, faces. Personalized life plans. Those specifics will be revealed in God’s timing… as one simply lives life in His will already spoken in the Word. Like this admonition: Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks. Clear directions.
It’s a simple manner of living, this praying and giving of thanks. Praying without ceasing encompasses living in an attitude of prayer, simply talking with God. Silently in your heart, whispered as you go about your day. You can pray/talk anywhere. There are no set forms, rituals or words. No particular posture. But whenever and wherever you pray, you step into the presence of God. And He will usually have something to say. Listening becomes your ongoing prayer time. You may hear His still, small voice, see His direction in circumstances, feel His touch in the words and kindnesses of others. Your life can become a prayer, an open communion with the Father.
The second aspect of living in God’s will every day: in everything give thanks. Thanking Him draws you closer. In remembering the past with thanksgiving for what He’s already done in your life, faith is increased for believing in what’s He’s called you to for the future. He gives you faith in the valley. Live with an attitude of gratitude. Unceasing prayer and thanksgiving create an atmosphere of communion and intimacy with the Father. A place to be loved. A quiet place to hear Him. A place of blossoming faith. A sacred space where mysteries are told.
