HEAVEN ON EARTH – by Linzy Bruno
"You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11 ESV
The biggest difference between life on earth and eternal life is that life here can easily be affected by the constant changing of our circumstances; that is if we let it. This world has us fooled into thinking that the only way we can be happy is if everything goes our way. For example, if I'm going somewhere special and I'm dressed nicely and feeling wonderful, but then spill my coffee all over my outfit; my mood can quickly change from good to bad. When this happens, the only way to maintain my joy is to remain in God's presence regardless of what happens. Of course this is easier said than done, however when mastered, is one of the most amazing benefits of following Jesus.
God wants those who love Him to have this awesome privilege; His joy CAN be ours anytime we want; we just have to cooperate with Him. When this world tries to steal my joy; I practice staying focused on the good things of God through prayer and meditation. I think it's SO exciting that believers are the only ones who get to enjoy this privilege while still here on planet earth.
MY PRAYER: Lord, in Your word You teach us we can have: "the peace of God, which passes all understanding...." Philippians 4:7 AKJV; I know where there is peace, there is joy and where there is joy; there is peace. My focus is not on this world. Help me remain in Your peaceful pleasure; no matter what, in Jesus name, AMEN.
