My Trip to Marion - Ken Ebright

I recently took a trip down memory lane when I went to Marion, Illinois. I had only been there a few times since the year 2000. The Lord started something the one year that I lived there. It started when I lost my career job in television production. Through that, I realized that I had made production an idol. I also was not dealing with my hot temper, and I also took the Lord's name in vain.
At the time, it was painful because I was interested in this field since I was a child, but I was not living like a Christian. Profanity is not a Christ-like character trait. What do people think when I call myself a Christian and I have a hot temper? I know I had turned off people for the Lord.
The Lord cared enough about me to chasten me. One of the things that helped me was doing a Bible reading schedule. Through that, I showed the Lord that I wanted to make Him number one in life. The Lord honored that and has helped me with my fatal flaws. I still have my sin issues and have days when I blow it, but I pray and ask for the Lord's help. He continues to refine me to make me more like Him.
