I believe that there is only one God. That God is the one who is the creator of everything that exists. That God has always existed, exists today, and will exist forever more. I am a Christian and believe in the Triune God. One God who eternally exists as three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus was God coming to earth as a man. God came to us in the form of a man to teach us how to live, act, and to save our souls. Try as we might, it is difficult for humans to fathom the enormity and power of a Spirit we can only imagine. That is why God walked with us as Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is God with us and within us each moment of our lives. This is God trying to help and comfort us. Although God gave us free will, the Holy Spirit is God trying to assist us throughout life and to live the Golden Rule. We must always be open to God's Holy Spirit.
There are some who think Christians have three gods because of our belief in the Trinity. This is nothing more than humans limiting the power and ability of God. If God is the all powerful omnipotent one, why restrict His abilities to do anything or be anything? This includes the ability to take on the form of a human and to walk among us.
Lord, thank you for coming to your children to help us on our journey through life. Amen.
