More than two thousand years have passed since Christ lived, yet His words continue to impact the world. The greatest teacher who ever lived, Jesus spoke as no man ever spoke. (Matthew 16:21) Christ’s powerful words never failed to deliver. Once, He commanded a violent windstorm to be still, and the wind and sea obeyed Him. (Mark 4:35-41) While in Cana, Jesus healed the nobleman’s son, who was near death in Capernaum, by His words alone. “Your son will live,” he told the nobleman. (John 4:50) And it was so. Even distance could not hinder the power of His words. Christ’s words radically changed the life of Mary Magdalene, from whom He drove out seven demons. (Luke 8:2) One of Jesus’ most devoted followers, Mary serves as an example of how the power of God can change a life. No matter how far someone has fallen into sin, they can be forgiven and transformed into a new creation in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Christ’s words live on, and they continue to heal the sick, to transform lives, to bring peace to troubled hearts, and to offer forgiveness and salvation to humanity.
