God reminded Israel in Isaiah 43 of His great and mighty actions on their behalf. How He had shown them His power time after time and saved them. Parted the Red Sea for their timely escape and destroyed their enemies. Just a few things pretty hard to banish from your mind. Then He says:
“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I’m going to do.” Isaiah 43:18 Living Bible
Don’t live in the past. Don’t be absorbed with past glory or defeat. Pay attention or you will miss My presence. You will also miss the joy, for in My presence is fullness of joy. Don’t stay in the past or You will miss My present voice. And the call into your future.
“For I am going to do a brand new thing…” Isaiah 43:19
I’ve got plans already. Stay with Me. Forget all that and walk with Me today. Take a look at what I’m doing.
“…See. I have already begun! Don’t you see it?...” (v 19)
Now if you’re looking backwards how can you see what’s happening now? Forget all that or you might miss a turn in the road. You will be blinded to the billboards of hope and encouragement along the way. Or you might just miss the train completely. So just stay with Me. Keep Me company. We’ll make it together.
“…I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home and create rivers for them in the desert.” (v.19)
You’re headed home My child. I’m paving the road NOW. I’m sustaining you with living waters. Forget all that. Live in today.
