"We are transformed in ever-increasing splendor into His own image"(2 Corinth 3:18 Phillips).
Remarkably, Jesus accepts us as we are; but, loves us 'way too much' to leave us that way. More remarkably, when we open up to His transformation, He occupies the recesses of our innermost being. Slowly, He fashions His heart and mind with our thoughts and soul-filled natures. We begin thinking differently and responding with self-control. Paul described it this way, " Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove the good, acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2a NKJV).
Evident in this passage, Paul exhorts Christians that radical change only comes through mind renewal. Christ-followers are to avoid being squeezed into values of the world and renew our minds with the truth of God's word. Thus, we emerge and live out a vibrant living relationship with our Father. It's impossible to be creative, productive and influence others for Christ; unless we learn to enmesh ourselves with the source of all life itself.
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation" (2 Corinth 5:17).
Oh, Father, thank you for not leaving us the way we are. Cause us to grow into Your likeness. May we blossom into the glorious creation that You designed and impact everyone around us for Your eternal purpose. Amen.
