Divine Transportation

“Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer.” Psalm 61:1 Amplified Bible
When we find ourselves in an undesirable location, a place of spiritual unrest or danger, God has provided us with a means of divine transportation. We don’t have to stay where we are. By an act of our will, we can create the phenomenon called prayer and begin a journey in a new direction.
Prayer leads us to a higher place. “From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and fainting; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalm 61:2)
Prayer elevates us above our situation, above our current location. To a safe place, away from chaos, confusion, and condemnation. To a place above the clouds where we may see the vision of God. Standing upon the Rock, the view changes. Perspective changes. Hope is born.
Prayer leads us to a closer place. A place that is close to the heart of God. “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him.” (Psalm 145:18) Prayer is that call that allows us to step into the presence of God. A place of communion. A place of peace. A tranquil place where we may hear the voice of God. Faith is born.
Prayer transports us to a divine realm, the realm of God’s show-and-tell. Prayer places us in the right location for God to work in our lives. It moves us in position to become His coworker in accomplishing His will for our lives.
Lord hear my prayer. Relocate me. I’m ready for a new journey. Amen.
