The Bible does not teach that we are sinners because we sin. It teaches that we sin because we are sinners. That is a huge difference. Born "In Adam" we inherited our sin nature just like people inherit a terminal illness from their family line. Paul really wants us to understand this in these excerpts from Romans 5: 12-20 ESV.
5:12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin , and so death spread to all men because all sinned…
5:15 …For if many died through one man's (Adam) trespass ...
5:16 …For the judgment following one trespass (Adam) brought condemnation...
5:17…because of one man's (Adam) trespass, death reigned through that one man (Adam) …
5:18 Therefore, as one trespass (Adam) led to condemnation for all men…
5:19 For as by the one man's (Adam) disobedience the many were made sinners…
Have you ever noticed how your compassion and love rises when you see a young child suffering and dying from an inherited disease? Would you ever consider condemning the child? That my friend, is how God feels about you. He loves you and died for you before you made a single step in His direction. There is no condemnation from God for those "In Christ".
But there is often self-condemnation which is the root to our fear, worry, anxiety, failures, reoccurring sin, self-destructive habits, addictions and so much more. Kill that root and all of these negative branches will die. Accept that you are a sinner because of Adams disobedience. Stop condemning yourself when you fail. There is NO condemnation for those "In Christ". You have God's word on it and God cannot lie.
